A Juneteenth Kick-off Celebration with the Holter, Myrna Loy Center, Montana Historical Society
Music by: 710 ASHBURY - due to a sudden illness, The Good, the Bad and the Blues will be unable to play. We are excited to have 710 ASHBURY on the stage for the first Alive @ Five of the 2024 season. 

To kick off our free summer concert series and to celebrate Juneteenth, we’re gathering for an evening of music and community! With the Good, the Bad, and the Blues, this Alive at Five event will showcase a rich, soulful, and bluesy sound that blends gospel and funk and touches all the senses.

A special Week 5 of Helena’s Alive at Five will be hosted by Ten Mile Creek Brewery on the north walking mall. Locals rejoice, we’ve got the five-piece (sometimes eight-piece) indie pop cover band @goldyvox in the queue! So mark your calendars, get some cool 80s/90s vintage t-shirts, and pull out those knockin' boots - we’re gonna have a party downtown!

Week 6 has been announced! The band is Wild Horses, a Roots Folk-Rock, Western, Americana group. Frontman and lead songwriter, Jed LaPlant, comes from a family deeply tied into the Minnesota bluegrass community, where storytelling is central to a song. He draws on that background with lyrics that are personal and at times intimate. That intimacy translates to the audience in live shows and is balanced with electrifying energy. This live show is gonna be a foot stompin’ and hands wavin’ kind of time!

Week 7 of Helena's Alive at Five will feature the high-energy Blues Rock trio Too Slim and the Taildraggers! Tim “Too Slim" Langford is on guitar/vocals, Zach Kasik is on bass/vocals, and Chris Reiser is on drums/vocals. Don’t miss this opportunity to jump into a Blues/Rock experience that has been described as “Straight Whiskey Blues with a Southern Rock Beer Chaser.”

Week 8 of Helena's Alive at Five will be on the patio and lawn area of the Lewis & Clark Tap Room. We'll have Blue Tattoo, a rock band that delivers hard-hitting classic rock covers... with attitude! You gotta see these guys! We were so blown away when they played here in October 2023 that we asked them to perform at our 2024 Block Party.

We've got Afro-Latin soul with John Roberts Y Pan Blanco in store for you August 14th at Women's Park! This band's soulful, funky, classical vibes are just what the music doctor ordered, and we can't wait to share their eclectic music with all of Helena. So come on down to Fuller Avenue and experience this special Alive at Five, complete with street dancing and brass to your heart's content.
